Nila Iyer grew up amidst the verdant serenity of Kerala's landscape at her ancestral home. As a child, she loved to listen to her grandfather's stories about damsels, dragons and princes on black stallions. By the time she was eighteen, she had devoured every romance novel at her disposal. Absolutely ridiculous but terribly fun book

This is the final (?) book in the "Kama Kahani" line from Random House, India. The other four books were sometimes silly, but this one beats its predecessors hands down in the ridiculous stakes. That said, I loved it anyway. "The Thief of Poompuhar" is a fun, anachronistic, and over the top novel with women warriors (historically correct, by the way), evil villains, a majestic hero in disguise that all behave just like modern people would even though the book is a historical.
