About the Author
John Dixon has taught HVAC/Refrigeration and Steering/Suspension/Brakes at Centennial College School of Transportation since 1999. He has been Department Coordinator for the Truck and Coach Mentorship there, as well as the Modified Apprenticeship Program, for eight years. A member of the Toronto Automotive Transportation Service Superintendents Association and the Program Advisory Committee for Mack/Volvo Trucks, Mr. Dixon is also Vice Chair of the Curriculum Advisory Committee for Ontario Colleges. My Diesel Instructor used this book in a/c class he said it was a great book and used it for most of the class and I purchased one for my self studys it has a lot of diagrams, real pressure charts,gauage readings..ect its vary good

Must read

This is a very easy to relax and read kind of book. You can keep it open to the side of you on the bed while massaging your partner and not miss a beat. It's informative, straight forward, and beautifully written. Recommend for all couples looking to get closer and as a must give gift for newlyweds.

Excellent introduction to sensuous and erotic massage

Very clear and helpful.

A lot of the text is laid out in a poetic format, which I found a little bit distracting at first. However, I found that the line breaks actually created a rhythm that matched the sense of movement in the illustrations.

The drawings are very good. One advantage of drawings over photographs is that the artist can make things clearer in many ways than the photographer, just by leaving out the unessential details. A second advantage is that explicit photographs are just too pornographic for many people. A pencil sketch is a bit more abstract and artistic, and therefore less shocking, making it easier for those people to assimilate the information without the negative emotional reaction.

One reviewer downgraded the book for not being about Tantra as a religion. There are a lot of people on the Internet who like trashing books that don't fit their religious beliefs. That's stupid. Read the subtitle. This is a book about sexuality. Besides, there are "tantric" traditions in almost every branch, school, and sect of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism, and none of them agree with each other. It's silly to say this "isn't about Tantra," as if there were only ONE religious version of Tantra. There isn't. There are dozens, and this isn't about any of them.

I actually found the end of the book a bit too "spiritual" for my taste, but since the whole thing is three books for the price of just the first one, I regard that as a minor flaw. It's still a good book and a great bargain.

You can find a good alternative with some excellent DVDs at The New Sensual Massage Super Package with 2 DVDs, but be prepared for something much more explicit.

If you want to learn more about Tantric sexuality from a non-religious perspective, there's a very good blog called "Extraordinary Passion: The Art and Science of Modern Tantra" at moderntantra.blogspot.com.

Beautiful and Sacred Presentation

Kenneth Stubbs has taken the concept of Sacred Sexuality and given it an erotic and poetic presentation. As a teacher of Sacred Sexuality, I highly recommend this book to all my students who truly want to recapture the sacredness of sexual energy in their lifes. Tantra is a philosphy that recognizes sexual energy as life force.

Depends on what you are looking for, and how you want to find it.

Probably a great book for someone wanting to get into or expand their knowledge on professional guitar finishing. Covers every aspect of guitar finishing to some degree (some aspects way more than others). Is directed at people who want to replicate the old school finishes and be able to duplicate traditional guitar finishes, and have access to materials and tools that the people like myself doing a limited number of guitars are not going to be able to invest in. The format of the book is not to my taste as there are hardly any pictures showing anything, and it seems to jump around quite a bit, although this seems to fit in with the general theory of guitar finishing in that all that exists in certainty is bare wood and a finished product. After doing a lot of research (including reading this book cover to cover 5-7 times), it seems that for every individual there is a different sequence of doing things with different kinds of products with differing amounts, times, etc. The author doesn't wrap this up for you as he kind of glances and breezes through multiple ways of doing things, interspersing history and helpful tips/lessons throughout in a not-completely-logical order at times. There are a number of recipes but these are aimed at replicating traditional finishes, and there is little in the way of making someone who is inexperienced feel confident in trying to do something different. It gives good advice on the pros and cons of certain techniques or materials, but one is left wondering "so what do I want to use then????"lol. A final PITA (although it is not the book's fault), is that only specialty stores (limiting to mail-order/internet for many) stock anything that you need, from the recommended sandpapers to the various other materials, grain filler (nobody around here even knows what that is), etc. so you might as well make sure you have a stewmac or woodcraft acount before even getting started on any of this.

Best for: professional guitar finishers (including those still working their way there) that have professional spray equipment (or access), and some prior finishing experience who want to know everything they can about the history, materials, and applications of guitar finishing.

Good for: People wanting to get a professional quality traditional guitar finish that have access to and/or are willing to invest in a bunch of tools and supplies to do a great job, and/or guitar buffs who want to know all this stuff.

Not so good for: People without a lot of extra money who have no access to tools or materials, and who want to do a professional quality finish. Also may have little to no interest in the history of finishing....... or reading.

Worst for: Poor people with no access to tools or materials who want to do creative (as in weird creative), nontraditional, or "wrong" finishes, and could care less about how Fender or Gibson cover up perfectly beautiful wood with tone-sucking paint.
